Questionnaire Analysis

To research into college magazines I designed and distributed a questionnaire. I discovered that over 50% of those that were surveyed did not read the college magazine. This to me suggests that previous college magazines have not bothered to find out what appeals to the students that they are selling this magazine to. The majority of the people that said no is because they all thought it was boring. By doing this questionnaire I can find out and see what appeals to students. I found that college events, job promotions, sports and music were the most popular, therefore this will be on my magazine cover and in the contents page. Those that were surveyed, the majority would only pay 50p for a college magazine. This means that I will have to include many advertisements so that the college magazine could keep running. 80% of those that we surveyed said that would either want a fortnightly issue or an every half term issue. It will be either one of these as this is what the student want. I would need to distribute the college magazine to places like the skills centre, and the common room as one of my questions was ‘what is your favourite thing about college? ‘And the majority said break. If there were any other popular places that the student ‘hung around’ in then I would need to research this to be able to promote the magazine. I would need to be advertising an offer for subscribing to the college magazine on the front cover of the first issue so I can try and promote the college magazine and make enough money to be able to keep it going. This will be something like ‘subscribe for half price’; therefore they will only need to pay £5 for one year instead of £10. I found that everyone that was surveyed said they would like an informal magazine so I would need to make it informal to give the students what they want.
