Analysis of NME magazine contents page

This contents page has been taken from the NME magazine. It gives you so much information just on the contents page. They include the band index which is very useful to the buyer’s that are interested in this. The big image in the middle shows that this is the most main feature of the magazine. The font of the writing itself shows you what parts they want to stand out more than others. They are also advertising to subscribe to the magazine; this is a way for the magazine to make money. The headlines are bold and in a large font because this helps any reader find one section that they are mostly interested in fast. They have used at the most 3 main colours, white, black and red. They haven’t made this contents page look too complicated but it is very busy. There is a lot of information just on the contents page. The image at the bottom right hand corner (the UK’s No. 1 Gig Guide Starts p60) is a common thing in the magazine and something that most readers will be interested in. I t is bold and stands out to catch the eyes of the readers. You can see that this magazine is an all music magazine from the front cover above and from this contents page. This is shown in the headlines and because you cannot see any information about politics of fashion, film reviews etc. The photo on this contents page is all about music again.
